1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or playing Echo Quest ("the Game"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Echo Quest is developed and published by EchoForge Studios. These Terms supplement the EchoForge Studios Terms of Service, which also apply. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Game.
2. Account Registration
To play Echo Quest, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
3. Game Rules and Conduct
When using Echo Quest, you agree not to:
- Use cheats, exploits, automation software, bots, hacks, or any unauthorized third-party software
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other players
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or game systems
- Exploit bugs or glitches instead of reporting them
- Engage in real-money trading of in-game items or accounts
- Impersonate other players or staff members
- Use the Game for any illegal purpose
4. Purchases and Premium Content
Echo Quest is distributed through Steam. Purchases — including the base game, DLC, and any in-game content — are processed by Valve Corporation through the Steam platform. By making a purchase:
- You agree to Steam's Subscriber Agreement
- Refunds are handled through Steam's Refund Policy (14 days / under 2 hours of playtime)
- Virtual goods and premium features have no real-world monetary value
- We reserve the right to modify premium features with reasonable notice

5. Intellectual Property
All content in Echo Quest — including but not limited to graphics, gameplay mechanics, text, music, and code — is the property of Echo Quest and its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and play the Game for personal, non-commercial use.
6. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to other users, the Game, or our business. In the event of termination:
- You may lose access to all virtual goods and progress associated with your account
- Any entitlements tied to your account may be revoked
- Refund eligibility for purchases is governed by Steam's Refund Policy
You may delete your own account at any time through the in-game account settings.
7. Service Availability
Echo Quest is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Game. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications at any time without prior notice. We are not liable for any loss of progress or data due to service interruptions.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Echo Quest and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Game, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of virtual goods, or interruption of service.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Game after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Kansas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Game shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Kansas.
